Final Project

Skill-related health is the ability to perform successfully during an activity, such as a game or sport. This health is also called performance fitness. Skill-related health is composed of six different components. These components are agility, balance, coordination, power, speed, and reaction time. My performance fitness activity is Foot and Ball Volley.

I will also be putting to practice my health-related fitness. This fitness contains only five components. The components are the following: cardiovascular fitness, strength, flexibility, muscular endurance, and body composition. In my activity I’ll be using muscular endurance.

The Foot and Ball Volley focus more on coordination. For those who don’t know what coordination is the ability to use your eyes and ears to determine and direct the smooth movement of your body. However, in this case we are using your legs.

For this activity all there is to do is drop a round ball, would be a tennis ball size or bigger over your dominant foot. Then you try to bounce the ball off your foot three or more consecutive times. That’s how you test your coordination. There is also a way to try it with your non-dominant foot.

I will maintain this skill-related fitness by practicing this activity twice or four times a week. Probably practice it for 15 minutes each time. So that way I won’t lose my coordination over the summer. I would also be practicing my muscular endurance with health-related fitness.
